Teacher's Choice Substitution for a Level 8 Practical:

My question is, "would " Prelude in B minor, op. 28, no. 6 by Chopin be an appropriate choice for a Etude substitute? Or it is a wiser choice for it to be more technical for an etude?" I understand, from the syllabus, the mark is based on the appropriateness of the choice, so I want to make sure before we set some goals.

As Prelude in B minor, op. 28, no. 6 by Chopin is already listed in the Piano Syllabus, 2015 Edition, as List C, Level 8, it does not fit the criteria for an Etude substitution.

The candidate may still choose to play this selection; however, there is an Academic Office deduction of 5 marks for performing two pieces from the same list.
