Examiners are indeed provided with specific guidelines and directives for testing technique at all levels to ensure consistency in approach within the College. As pointed out by the examiners in this discussion, rather than a prescribed list of elements to be asked, there is an acceptable range of items for each level, and depending on the specific circumstances, an examiner will ask as many items as are required to reach a fair assessment. It is our intent to provide each student with the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and proficiency, and for that reason there is flexibility in terms of the exact number of elements to be performed on a given examination.
