The clapback is intended as a tool to assist the candidate in identifying rhythm prior to playing the melody. The mark is holistic, and as such, each element is not marked separately.
My Level 4 piano student received a mark of 84% in her January 2019 practical exam. The List B piece was awarded 15.5 / 18, which is 86%. Because she used music, she was given 0 for memory. It has long been my understanding that if music is used, and the mark is a First Class standing on that piece, half the memory mark would be awarded. Is this no longer the case?
