Using the Key Signature of a Minor Scale When Writing a Chromatic Scale

Recently, my student asked me if she could use the key signature of a minor scale when writing a chromatic scale.

Since chromatic scales are employed in both major and minor keys in the repertoire, it would certainly be possible to write a chromatic scale using a minor key signature. However, within the context of examinations, it is generally assumed that if a key signature is used, a major key would be chosen.
