Building a Guitar Community
Brett Gunther
Creating and maintaining a healthy guitar community may seem like an incredible task. To borrow from an ancient proverb (believed to have originated in Africa), “It takes a village.” This village consists of a core of dedicated teachers, performers, guitar enthusiasts, hardworking students, and concertgoers. Creating such a community in your own area requires a combination of entities working together including music festivals; organizations such as a guitar society; and supportive universities, colleges, and conservatories. Working as one, these entities can help grow your guitar community to create better teachers, students, and performers.
