Musicianship from the Beginning
Bijan Sepanji
Musicianship is the fusion of multiple music-related skills and a deep understanding of various musical elements that frees musicians to play or sing in a stylistic, artistic fashion. Although musicianship is by nature an organic, holistic concept, it can be useful for music teachers to give particular thought to some of the following elements of musicianship from the earliest lessons with young students: rhythm, pulse, harmonic awareness, and musical phrasing.
